RC Painting & Sons, home

Some surfaces are a materials problem before they are a painting problem. High-traffic corridors, anything exposed to moisture or wear, and any surface carrying a performance requirement in the spec need a coating chosen for the condition and applied to the manufacturer’s requirements. Get it wrong and it fails early, then gets redone at somebody’s cost.

We apply coatings to spec for general contractors and building owners, and hold lead abatement certification for work on older buildings where that matters.

Systems

What we apply

01

Garage Floors

A polyaspartic flake system over prepared concrete. It bonds into the slab rather than sitting on top of it, cures fast enough to put a garage back in service quickly, and takes what a working garage actually does to a floor.

  • Diamond-ground slab, vacuumed, primed, flake broadcast, then topcoat
  • Resists oil and gasoline
  • Tire marks do not lift it
  • UV stable, so it does not yellow in daylight
  • Slip resistant
  • Ten flake blends to choose from
A large garage before coating: a bare grey concrete slab with saw-cut control joints, a white column between the bays, and unfinished board-formed concrete along the base of the walls. The same garage after coating: a glossy grey flake floor reflecting the skylight doors, a sports car on a lift beside red tool cabinets at left, and a black convertible parked at right.
02

Epoxy Floors

A two-part resin system that builds a thick, continuous film over concrete. Where a floor needs a hard, washable surface that can take traffic, spills and regular cleaning, epoxy is the workhorse.

  • Seamless: no grout lines, no joints to fail
  • Shops, warehouses, back-of-house and utility space
A finished metallic epoxy floor running the length of a narrow hallway: glossy teal swirled with white and pale blue, like water, between white walls and baseboards.
03

Fireproofing

Applied fire-resistive coatings insulate structural steel so the frame keeps its strength longer in a fire. This is specified work: the rated assembly on the drawings dictates the material and the thickness, and neither is chosen on site.

  • Applied to the rated assembly, verified by thickness
04

Microcement

A thin cement-based finish applied over what is already there (concrete, tile, an existing floor), leaving one continuous surface with no seams or grout lines. It goes on floors, walls, counters and wet areas.

  • Applied in thin coats over an existing substrate
  • Floors, walls, counters and showers
A finished microcement bathroom floor in pale warm grey, one seamless surface running from the vanity area through to the toilet room, framed by black door casings and cream baseboards.A living-room accent wall finished in a mottled, trowel-textured microcement with a rusted iron look, warm copper and brown tones catching the lamplight around a white-trimmed window.
